Embody Your Own True Stories in Motion Improv
MOVE. PLAY. CONNECT. Play theater games designed to enhance spontaneity and attunement to self and others. Move in ways that free the body, and develop skills in autobiographical storytelling. Motion Improv fully involves the body, the voice, the mind and the spirit. We work in solo, duet and ensemble forms; and people repeatedly say that the practice changes their lives. 8 Wednesday nights, 7:30-9:30 pm-- class series meets Sept 19 to November 7, 2018. Fee: $320, OK to pay in two installments. Half of these classes will be taught by master teacher Nina Wise and half by Sybil Meyer, certified Motion Improv teacher. Feel free to contact Sybil, through this Meetup; or both teachers through the Motion website below, which lists other workshops and performances: Motion Theater® is a form of autobiographical improvisation developed by bay area performer Nina Wise.

What we're about

Learn to tell your stories on your feet, utilizing language, sound, and movement as your tools of expression!

This group is for exploring our creativity through improvisational movement and storytelling. We are especially interested in accessing our life stories as part of our craft, and our highest aspiration is to have fun while making space for all parts of ourselves: the glorious, the funny, the pained and the gawky. We use creative processes to explore ourselves and create a community of loving support.

The embodied narratives that are shared in Motion Theater® classes and performances help to affirm our lives in all their quirky particulars; allowing us to find humor and beauty in the midst of our personal and planetary struggles.

Sybil Meyer, LMFT, is a dancer, psychotherapist and expressive arts therapist, who has studied and performed Motion Theater® since 2006. She completed her Motion Theater Teacher certification in 2014. See more at .
