Motley Tones are cohosting a new shanty sing with Ship's Company Chantymen!
What: Open Chantey/Sing
When: Monthly on the Second Friday - 7pm-9pm
Where: The Colonial Inn, 153 W King St, Hillsborough, NC 27278
Who: Hosted by Ship’s Company Chanteymen for anyone who wants to lead, request or listen to sea-related maritime & tavern songs.
Why: Because we like it, and to preserve sea lore, history and sea music; and, act as a springboard for others to start their own sea music groups, activities and open sings.
Some additional details: cohosted by Jim Rockwell, Mike Bosworth & Kat Tarsaswarm, with Hillsborough local support by Dani Black. The Colonial Inn is 'since 1759' and definately maritime music appreciative, and appropriate colonial, pirate, American War of Independence period clothing is encouraged but in no way required. Parking is on the street, free, and Spencer's Tavern is on the premises for your gastronomic and liquid refreshment needs. We will gather either in the Inn lobby (in cold or wet) or outside at the firepit (in nice weather). As always with a new pubsing, we appreciate you passing word to your friends who might be interested and within range....Hillsborough is a lovely historic town between Greensboro and Raleigh, and nearest to Durham and Chapel Hill.
