International Folk Dance

Nederland Community Center

Enjoy dancing to beautiful music with wonderful people! Learn the steps to songs from around the world and get to know the people who connect the world through dance. Conversation and snacks during the 15 minute break around 8:15pm. Most Mondays September to May, this group meets at the Nederland Community Center. Call us to confirm whether we are dancing and get on the off-Meetup email list that announces when it is cancelled:[masked]. Bring comfortable indoor shoes to change into that do not track mud/dirt/stones into the Dance Studio. A $5 suggested contribution is donated voluntarily at a can on the snack table in the lobby outside the Dance Studio. You may wish to bring a snack to share at break - but it is not required, so don't let that stop you!

Mountain Peak Life Social Dinner

Nederland Community Center

Meet active mountain residents - couples and singles - over a fine dinner prepared by Head Chef Cher Rainbolt. We are committed to serving high quality foods lovingly prepared for optimum health and flavor. We welcome a variety of dietary preferences and incorporate vegan and gluten free into each meal. The menu changes each month and will be posted here about one month prior. Please advise us if you have special dietary needs (dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan, etc.) when you make your reservation. Cost is $10 under age 60 and $5 requested contribution age 60+. We have resumed our Fourth Friday schedule for most of the first nine months of the year - with some notable exceptions. We have shifted to a few Saturdays, the first being March 23, 2019. Please sign up as early as posssible for all dinners and breakfasts. Call[masked] if you are blocked by the RSVP deadline here at the Meetup - we accept late reservations there. We will not accept registrations that show only a first name on Meetup unless we already know you. If you prefer first name anonymity on this public site, please be sure to email our organizer at serenekarplus (at) gmail.com to provide your full name and the full names of any of your guests. If we've met you before and can easily guess that your "+1" is your spouse or significant other, no need to clarify, but if it is someone else, please email the name of your guest to serenekarplus (at) gmail.com. Please note that many register through email or phone, so please don't gauge the turnout by this site listing. We have hosted over 90 at some our dinners, even though this site only showed about 30. If you cannot attend, it is very important that you call to cancel as early as you can. Our nonprofit host must pay for all of the food and we do not wish to waste any. Please leave a message at[masked]. If you are able to volunteer for this event, we appreciate your help and advance commitment. Help can range from communicating with our followers via email or on multiple Facebook and QuickTopics pages, tracking reservations and preparing check-in sheets, helping prepare the meal that day, serving the meal, or greeting/check-in attendance at the door. Please alert us at[masked] or serenekarplus (at) gmail.com if you would like to get involved with ensuring these popular social dinners continue!
