It's all about the fun! The swirling, twirling, can't stop smiling, grinning, laughing, moving, grooving, and all around just having a great time, fun.
COMMUNITY
Contra dancers are about the friendliest people on the planet! Everyone helps everyone else and there are dancers from 8 to 80 years old , and sometimes younger and older.
### Some recent changes that our PATMAD Board approved this past summer:
- We are now dancing EVERY THURSDAY!
- Masks are now OPTIONAL.
- Vaccinations are still encouraged but not required.

Local Bands: $10 - $15 - $20+$10. - those who require discounted admission
$15.+ - helps others come to the dance, keeps our bank account healthy and allows us to pay the performers closer to what they are worth.You may pay any amount within the scale (or more). Thanks for supporting our dance!
Free admission for children 12 and under if they are able to follow our COVID precautions.Please carry in clean, soft soled shoes (not used outside) to avoid damage to the floor.

- Feeling Sick on any dance night? Stay home! Please show care for the community and we'll see you next time. Dances will be every week as long as cases remain low. Thank you for your honesty and concern for others in our community.Did someone say SNACKS? Dancers are encouraged to bring finger foods to share at the break. NO PEANUTS OR PEANUT BUTTER, Please! We will provide water and cups, but we encourage you to bring your own reusable container for water.

There will be teaching session at 7:15 and the evening dance will start at 7:30 and end at 10:30.
Pay at the door w/ cash or electronic payment. Sliding Scale Admission: $10.00 to $20.00. $15.00 is recommended.

This Saturday Night Contra Dance Series runs from September through May, and you can find some details about future dances here:
Third Saturday Contra Dance in Mt. Airy PAExpect friendly people of all ages and expect to have fun! No experience is necessary. You can come with friends or come solo, but you will have no problem finding partners with this sociable crowd. Every dance is taught, and there are plenty of experienced dancers ready to help you. Contra dancers say, "As long as you are smiling, you are doing it right"

Wear comfortable shoes and comfortable clothing. Skirts that twirl are fun, but really, wear whatever you want. Sometimes the room can get a little warm, so layers are good, and some folks bring an extra shirt to change into at the break. Water available throughout the dance but bring your own cup or bottle.
