It's all about the fun! The swirling, twirling, can't stop smiling, grinning, laughing, moving, grooving, and all around just having a great time, fun.
COMMUNITY
Contra dancers are about the friendliest people on the planet! Everyone helps everyone else and there are dancers from 8 to 80 years old , and sometimes younger and older.
### Some recent changes that our PATMAD Board approved this past summer:
- We are now dancing EVERY THURSDAY!
- Masks are now OPTIONAL on 2nd and 4th Thursdays, only.
- Masks REQUIRED AT ALL OTHER TIMES for Mt Airy Contra (3rd Sat Contra and Allons Danser may have different requirements.)
- Vaccinations are still encouraged but not required.

The evening will include a mask/air break that can be taken outside.Admission: sliding scale for local bands $5-$15+. Please pay in cash or electronically at the entrance to the dance.

This is a masked dance, vaccinations are encouraged but not required to reduce the risks of COVID-19 transmission
COVID Safety:
-Masks must be worn properly over nose and mouth the entire time you are indoors, except when taking sips of water on the sideline. If you choose to take your mask down or off, you will be welcomed by a board member, volunteer, or another dancer to pull it up or to go outside. Please wear a surgical mask or better (no gaiters or bandanas allowed). We will have N95 masks available for anyone who forgets their mask or has brought one that is not sufficient. (Your own food may be consumed outdoors not in the hall.)
-Sign a waiver at the door stating you agree to our Covid practices. Provide your current phone number and email for contact tracing purposes (please write clearly!). If you get sick after this dance, we implore you to immediately contact us at board@thursdaycontra.com so we can advise the community. Waivers will be kept and your attendance will be noted on the back should contract tracing become necessary.

-Bring Your Own water Bottle. We will not provide cups. We will provide water, but BYOB. We will not provide food, and ask you to consume your food outside.

Local Bands: $5 - $15+The first number is for those who require discounted admission
