Yes,you have read it right. Andaman Island is a part of cluster of islands to the east of India in the Bay of Bengal. Andaman and Nicobar Islands together are made of 500 big and small islands. A simple explanation to these beautiful land masses in water would be North Andaman and South Andaman.In this trip, we shall explore South Andaman Islands which has its own airport. So that you could fly from major cities in India like Mumbai, Chennai or even Kolkata. The historic past about this place is easily available online.

Here are a few places to visit on your tour to Andaman Islands (South)

2.Chatham Island --for its oldest saw mill
3.Ross Island --to revisit history and the Ross Island Sound and Light show.

How to get to there:
Port Blair is the Andaman’s major gateway which is well connected by air & sea, while regular passenger ship services are available to Port Blair from the India’s major cities like Chennai, Kolkata and Vishakhapatnam. The best way to reach these exotic islands is to take a flight from New Delhi, Kolkata or Chennai. At present, the regular domestic flight services are available from all these India’s major cities mentioned above.

Options:
BY SEA, the voyage takes about 50 to 60 hours. Shipping services - As the Andaman & Nicobar Islands lies in the Bay of Bengal it is great experience to reach Andaman Islands by ship. There are regular passenger ship services for Port Blair from Chennai, Kolkata and Vishakhapatnam. The ships make three to four trips every month from Calcutta and Chennai to Port Blair and vice-versa. Ships sail from Visakhapatnam once in a month. The voyage takes about three days and the ship normally berths at Port Blair for about two days. The journey time about of these respective places are mentioned above.
Other options: From Mumbai travel to Chennai by train on Indian railways, then fly till Port Blair or fly from Mumbai via Chennai to Port Blair

Andaman Island Package details:
Day 1:
Arrival at Port Blair. Transfer to hotel. Evening visit at Ross Island and watch the light and sound show. Return back to the hotel

Day 2:
After breakfast sail to Havelock Island, check-in at the hotel. Visit Radhanagar beach.

Do think travelling light is recommended - maybe get the clothes done at local laundry?
There are no laundry available outside except those offered by the hotels. Carry clothes which can dry easily since you may frequent the beach. It’s better to travel light as the airline doesn't permit much ;)

What's the footwear you recommend?
Crocs are the best option, but anything that is beach friendly How much would be required over and above the stay in expenses?
Completely depends upon what additional activities you like to do and the kind of food you want to eat. We have ATMs around, so no worries. Do you have a list of things to carry?

It is mandatory that you visit your personal physician before enrolling for the trip if you suffer from any illness of any kind and disclose the same and your medical history to the organizers of the trip so that best possible arrangements can be carried out post approval. As organizers of the trip, we will be responsible for providing basic first aid throughout the trip. In case of unexpected mishaps or accidents, we will arrange for the injured patron to be taken to the nearest medical hospital wherever possible.
