Title: Oracle Container Native Platform

Abstract:
Oracle Container Native Platform evolves on top of a Managed Kubernetes Service, Managed Registry Service and Managed CI/CD Pipelines. It runs on Oracle’s Gen 2 Cloud IaaS or on-premise, providing developers a modern, open and efficient cloud native solution. A new component, Oracle Functions, is a container native serverless implementation, that opens new ways for development of microservice based applications, significantly reducing their operational costs. A couple of demos will highlight the benefits and flexibility gained by using those platform components.

Bio:
Peter Doschkinow works as Senior Software Architect at Oracle. He deals with application development in the cloud as well as with web and Java technologies and frameworks. Before joining Oracle, he gained valuable experience as a Java architect and consultant at Sun Microsystems.

Title: Kubernetes: Now You See It

Abstract:
We have read and seen diagrams about how kubernetes works, spins and rolls... but it is not clear to many (this includes very good developers) what's happening behind the scenes.
Join us in this presentation where we show all the concepts you need to understand about Kubernetes in a very visual way. Through MSB.com, we'll be able to explore the infrastructure behind (it's real infra!), play with it, and explore the impact, all while seeing it in the dashboard.
If we have enough time, we will go through a Zero Downtime Deployment in Kubernetes, to show one of its most popular applications.

Bio:
Mislav comes from the East of Croatia and later moved to Zagreb where he studied Computer Science. Always hacking projects on the side, one of them landed him a speaker slot at the EuroPython in Berlin. He joined Delivery Hero as an infrastructure engineer and then joined the AI/data science team at Flixbus where he worked on the pricing engine (that now sets bus prices across Europe and the US). His most recent role was at Infarm where he was a Tech Lead running IoT. In 2018 he got accepted into EF, a company builder, where he co-founded Magic Sandbox.
