Together with Microsoft, A11y MUC will be celebrating the eighth Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) in Munich! The purpose of the GAAD is to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about (digital) accessibility and inclusion. To find out more information look at the official GAAD website (https://globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/).
More and more people are interested in in the topic of making technology accessible and user-friendly, unfortunately they often just do not know where or how to start. That’s why awareness comes first!
We will start the evening with three short presentations, where our speakers will share insights on the importance of accessibility and give some hands-on examples of what it means to create accessible products, software and services. Following the lightning talks, everyone will have the opportunity to take a look at some great, modern accessible technologies and network with other accessibility experts and enthusiasts.
6:30 PM - 7:00 PM - Registration and networking
7:00 PM - 7:15 PM - Welcome
7:15 PM - 8:00 PM - Three Accessibility Lightning Talks - Speakers to be announced
8:00 PM - 9:30 PM - Accessibility Demos and networking
As always the Meetup will be informal, allowing the people to network and also share some thoughts and ideas for future Meetups.
Snacks and refreshments will be kindly provided by Microsoft.
Please note: The talks will be held in English and will be subtitled using Microsoft technologies.
Microsoft's office is fully accessible to everyone. The event will be held on the ground floor and on the way to the Meetup room there are wide doorways, open space plan and accessible bathrooms. For those needing a ramp to access the building, please arrive at the main entrance on Walter-Gropius-Straße (next to the Autobahn); for others, the building can also be accessed via the revolving doors on the rear of the building on Oskar-Schlemmer-Straße.
