MyData is a global movement looking at ways we can assert more rights over the data flows that we produce.

"The core idea is that we, you and I, should have an easy way to see where data about us goes, specify who can use it, and alter these decisions over time." - MyData

We are starting a MyData hub in Edinburgh. We hope together we can look at ways we can apply the ideas behind MyData to our local context.

I believe while data is currently misused we need to recognise the positive impact that sharing data can have on our lives and communities. Hopefully, through the Edinburgh hub, we can start looking at ways to responsibly share data to the benefit of the city and all of its residents.

Come along if you are interested and find out about what MyData is all about. As well as to discuss and shape how this new hub should look and what we should focus on together.

If you are really interested you can apply to become a founding member of the organisation before the 15th of November.
