San Diego Herpetological Society is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Corporation serving the community since 1978.

The San Diego Herpetological Society - Reptile & Amphibian Club - seeks to build a community and network with everyone who shares a passion or curiosity for reptiles and amphibians kept as pets or studied and observed in nature.

Our primary objective is to create a supportive environment for enthusiasts whether a beginner or life-long hobbyist or breeder.

We are excited to announce that we are working on reviving the San Diego Herpetological Society! We are a passionate team of new and old faces looking forward to growing our herp community and sharing our love, education, and support for reptiles and amphibians. For the last few months we have been reorganizing roles, rebuilding processes and the growing a team to get things back in order and rebooted. We are excited to announce that we are planning our first new meeting of the San Diego Herpetological Society for Tuesday August 21st at 7:00pm in Balboa Park. (1650 El Prado San Diego 92101 - Room 104) Our meeting will include: an introduction to our team, membership information and Tom Derr, our current treasurer and founder of Tom’s Snakes and Rattlesnake Rescue will be giving a talk on indigenous snakes of California. We look forward to rebuilding the group and growing our society once again.
