Support Group - Anyone seeking support for a mental health issue
NAMI Wake County and Wake County Human Services has teamed up to offer peer led support groups for people who have a mental health issue: Meetings are held at the Wake County Human Services Building, 220 Swinburne St., Raleigh, NC. What we're about

NAMI Wake is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to provide support, education, and advocacy for people with mental illnesses and their family and friends.

We offer separate support groups for both family members and people who have mental illness. There are groups meeting in Raleigh, Knightdale, Wake Forest, Apex and Fuquay. Please check the calendar to identify a group suitable for you or send an email.

We also offer classes for both family members of adults with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and other general mental illnesses. The class are called Family to Family and run for 12 weeks. Contact Andrea Chase if you are interested: (

Another class is specifically for family members of people with symptoms or a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder. This class runs for 12 weeks. Contact Ann Akland if you are interested:

On the fourth Monday of the month, we have a general education meeting with a specific topic of interest to people in our group. Please check the calendar for this month's meeting topic.
