Edtech Nairobi meets Edtech Cape Town

Hello Edtech-ers,

July meetup comes early, because we are hosting Jamie Martin. Jamie is a former Special Adviser on education to the UK government and education specialist at Boston Consulting Group.

Jamie is now establishing Africa's first EdTech dedicated incubator and fund. The fund, Citi Edtech Cluster (http://www.edtech.org.za/), will select the best education technology entrepreneurs from across Africa and work with them to expand the scale and education impact of their innovations. Each company selected will get $40k direct funding and a support programme worth a further $40k.

Cape Town based Citi Edtech Cluster, provides a co-working space, an incubator for selected Edtech startups and hosts the Capetown Edtech Meetup. Jamie recently wrote about on the huge potential (https://capx.co/the-african-education-revolution/) of education technology in Africa.
