Training project: Special interest group meeting

Details
A special NCTech4Good meeting will be held May 5 at Wake West Regional Library in Cary to plan computer and Internet training for people receiving computers from Teaming for Technology, Purple Elephant, Kramden Institute, and similar local computer recycling programs. Pizza and socializing start at 6:30. Starting at 7:00, Andy Thompson and Jonathan Wolf, Information Technology Department, City of Raleigh, will briefly describe a partnership that includes the City of Raleigh, AT&T, One Economy Corporation and the Raleigh Housing Authority which initially is bringing computers and free broadband Internet access to about 160 units in Chavis Heights, Raleigh. This project provides an opportunity for NCTech4Good volunteers to evaluate and revise existing training materials, assist with training, and assist with question/answer sessions.
At this meeting we will identify tasks and teams, team leaders, and team communications strategies to support the Chavis Heights project and similar projects.
