What we're about

We are starting a new golf group to complement the other groups in Atlanta and cover a different area of North Georgia. We hope to provide access to many additional courses that you may not otherwise play. We will feature well-reviewed courses within a 35-mile radius of Gainesville, GA. All skill levels are welcome. We ask if you are new to the game that you understand the basic rules of etiquette, especially pace of play. The group will also stress a social component and all rounds will be followed by the opportunity to meet back up in the clubhouse for a drink and/or bite to eat!

We will play on different days of the week and try not to interfere with other groups outings when possible. We will also play occasionally on weekdays to accommodate retirees, or those who prefer not to play on busy weekends. Lastly, when possible, we will play early to try and beat the heat!

(Updated for 2020) Rules:

This is a free group and provided as a service to the community. As such, the only payment is basic courtesy to the organizers and your fellow golfers. All rules are designed to help us maintain a great relationship with the premium courses we play, as well as the enjoyment of your fellow golfer.

1) We ask that you only RSVP if you are confident you can make it. We understand that things come up but don't take a spot from someone else unless you are definitely coming. We will try not to book events too far out. Anyone who removes themselves from the RSVP list 3 times after tee times have already been set, will not be able to join us again for the remainder of the calendar year.

2) Two no- shows to an event are automatic removal from the group.

3) Pace of play-Whether you are new to golf or not, the most important rule is keeping up with the group in front of you. Again, we want to be welcomed back to these nice courses. If we get complaints that you spend 10 minutes looking for every ball, take an excessive amount of time to play your shot, you will be subject to removal from our group. There are no 5 hour rounds unless it is out of your control.

4) Lastly and most importantly, fun is also a requirement. Not only do we enjoy the game of golf regardless of our skill level, we enjoy meeting back in the clubhouse, getting to know one another. We understand golf is a frustrating game but please keep your emotions in check within reason, and laugh about it! No club throwers, excessive foul language or being an overall pain in the ass to play with will be permitted. Just be fun!
