Speaker and Presentation Information
Presentation #1: Taking Control of the Advanced Threat Problem -
Speaker: Adam Hogan - Security Engineer at Sourcefire. Adam Hogan has been working with Snort and intrusion detection since 2003. This includes work in event analysis, incident response, writing books on the topic, teaching classes, and professional consulting. He currently works for Sourcefire as a Security Engineer for the Ohio valley region. When not digging through packets or logs he can usually be found at a hockey game or on Xbox Live.
Presentation #2: Optimize Your Data Protection Investment for Bottom Line Results - If pre-packaged, one size fits all data loss prevention sounds too good to be true, it probably is. DLP and Email & Web Gateway applications that are deployed and then ignored don't optimize your investment and create more work for your internal team. To protect your data, DLP solutions must be tailored to your business policies and processes, and continually monitored and tweaked based on your evolving business environment. Join BEW Global President & CEO on February 14 to learn how to continually improve your DLP system to reduce risk and improve operational efficiencies. BEW Global has deployed 400+ DLP projects and will share their experience in successful DLP and Email & Web Gateway program design and best practices including application management, policy governance, incident triage, event management and business analytics.
Speaker: Robert Eggebrecht - President and CEO of BEW Global. Rob is co-founder of BEW Global and has served as the President since 2002. Prior to co-founding BEW Global, he worked for Pacer/CATS - a Wembley-Ticketmaster Joint Venture in the finance area assisting in the international expansion of the firm's sales and operations. Rob then joined Qwest Communications' Business Development team that supported the commercial roll out of advanced network hosting and secured communication solutions, and then worked for Level 3 Communications in London managing multiple lines of business throughout the EMEA region. Rob entered the information and network security industry at Virtela Communications working with the executive management team on the international expansion of the firm's managed virtual private networking (VPN) and firewall services reaching across the EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin American regions. His final position prior to BEW Global was in Copenhagen, Denmark leading the international corporate development activities for Gemplex, a provider of managed VPNs and firewall services. Rob holds an undergraduate degree in International Business from the University of Denver, with an International Management Certificate from Georgetown University and Strategic Marketing Management Certificate from Stanford University. Rob is an active member in the ISO 27000 community and successfully completed the BS17799 (now known as ISO 27001) Lead Auditor Course and exam in October 2005 and most recently lead the development and launch of the first DLP managed service and cloud-based DLP delivery method.
