Recent developments have enabled IoT to address various market segments and successfully breakthrough in increasing efficiency for process or customer experience. For this, it relies on different technologies from hardware, connectivity and cloud, up to machine learning and data analytics. After starting out as a plant engineer, Mr Dömer moved into consulting, where, as a Business Developer, he managed international clients with focus on regulation and certification. He subsequently gained marketing experience at a software development company before joining Swisscom in 2011. After a year in the SME marketing division, Mr Dömer moved over to product management, where he worked on the development of IP-based broadband products for SMEs. Then, in 2014, he headed up the development of SDN/NFV-based network products in conjunction with Swisscom’s Innovation department, gaining extensive experience in agile software development and the related transformation in the field of telecommunications. Since moving to Swisscom’s corporate customer team at the start of 2017, Mr Dömer has been responsible for IoT development in the Mobile Business.

He has global experience in structured ideation process on emerging technology applications such as Blockchain, IoT and AI, linking use cases to business opportunities and the competitive landscape. Burak has an electrical engineering background and has spent his first years focusing on niche research such as brain-computer interfaces and MEMS. Retaining his keen interest on emerging technologies, he now assists the C-suite to assess the impact and market viability of disruptive enablers. He holds a CMC from Association of Management Consultants Switzerland (ASCO), sits on the advisory board of Blockchain Turkey Platform (BCTR) and provide expertise to United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business to (UN/CEFACT).
