Meet at the James Garfield Memorial at 10am for a 2 hour walk around the Lakeview Cemetery grounds trying to find as many famous people as we can in 2 hours. The pace and where we explore will depend on the energy and interests of the group. Since it's Black Friday, wear black! If there's interest, a group might go to Little Italy for lunch after the hike. I’ll increase the cap for the group up to 20. But we may split the group into 2 groups of 10 for two reasons: (COVID and Lakeview would want to charge us $5 per person for groups of 12 or more and want a 2 week notice). Please wear a mask before and after event. Given the rise in COVID lately a mask is suggested but not required during the hike, as long as social distancing can be maintained. Hike at your own risk. COVID Information: * Stay home if you are sick, have a fever or do not feel well. * Maintain at least 6 foot distance between individuals. * Use hand sanitizer or wash hands often. *Use a face covering at the meeting area pre-hike & post-hike * Use a face covering/mask when it is likely 6 foot distance may be breached such as approaching other trail users * Follow federal, state, local and park-specific public health recommendations.
Brecksville Stables & Equine Park
Distance: 10 Miles Pace: 4+MPH Level: Advanced / Strenuous Route: Start at the Brecksville Stables into the CVNP, take the Buckeye Trail South to Snowville Road, return North on the Valley Bridal near Redlock. We will hike/trail run at a fast pace without many stops to regroup. Please do not join this event unless you have hiked with me before. Not a good first hiking event. By joining this event, you accept full responsibility for your own health and safety.
This will be an intermediate paced hike of about 5.5 miles that will start at the Wallace Lake Parking Lot in Berea. We will hike the trails in this area, as well as the old part of Berea. Please bring a mask for the hike. And of course, a flashlight too! Dogs: Leashed dogs are always welcome
Rating: Leisure, approx. 2.5 to 3.0 mph. Beginner friendly, no one will be left behind. Description: West Creek is a 324-acre reservation that has been changed from a garbage dump into a beautiful valley of rocky gorges, forest-draped hillsides, floodplains and babbling brooks. When you turn off Ridgewood Drive, don't park at the first parking lot; continue driving all the way towards the Watershed Center and follow the drive till it ends in that parking lot. We will meet between the parking lot and Monarch Bluff Picnic Pavilion. Feel free to message me (Sue) if needed; we start promptly at 8:30am. Dogs: Leashed, well behaved dogs are welcome
