Microservices have become the new hotness. What are they and why would you use them? We'll use a fictitious hotel management system as an example for designing and implementing a microservices based API.
• What makes a good "service" ("micro" or otherwise)?
• Requirements: Events, commands, workflows, read models. Introduction to eventstorming.
• Strategic design: Domains, bounded contexts, fit with business objectives and priorities.
• Code: A C# sample implementation. (CQRS + event sourcing)
• Rollout planning/project management/maintenance: The payoff. This is where a "microservices" based solution really shines. We'll look at some opportunities and gotchas.
