In our next meetup, we will have a book club on The Fearless Organization by Amy Edmondson who is the most prominent researcher on psychological safety.

Here's a bit from the book description:

"This book explores this culture of psychological safety, and provides a blueprint for bringing it to life. The road is sometimes bumpy, but succinct and informative scenario-based explanations provide a clear path forward to constant learning and healthy innovation.

  • Explore the link between psychological safety and high performance
  • Create a culture where it’s “safe” to express ideas, ask questions, and admit mistakes
  • Nurture the level of engagement and candor required in today’s knowledge economy
  • Follow a step-by-step framework for establishing psychological safety in your team or organization"

We will cover this book in two sessions. In the first one, we will cover chapters 1 to 4. And in the second one, we will cover chapters 5-8 in two weeks.

Here are a few guidelines on how you can make the most of the book club:

  • start with a goal for reading this book: what would you like to achieve by reading it?
  • make notes and write down your reflections as you read
  • write down passages that you don't understand
  • write down passages that you disagree with
  • write down passages that answer questions you had or address the challenges you've experienced when you were a coach

Looking forward to meeting you to talk about this wonderful book.
