“Different Isn’t Dangerous Unless You Think It So” with Rev Trish at CSL Metro

Each and every one of us is an individuation of Spirit totally unlike any other. This uniqueness, the beauty of creation, provides richness and color, warmth and depth, to Life. It is to be celebrated not used as an excuse to inflict pain. Feelings of otherness arise when someone compares, contrasts, judges and rejects individuals because of their uniqueness. Being different in appearance or characteristics from what is familiar, expected, or generally accepted can evoke angst and fear, and feelings of separation, aloneness and isolation – or be cause for celebration. Vive la difference! Every Sunday we meet to nurture, inspire, uplift and empower one another as we venture through life sensing deeply that there is more to life than meets the eye. Spirit is expressing as each of us uniquely, divinely! Come be you with us! Share your beauty, your gifts and talents. Be acknowledged for being you! Meditation and Life Visioning from 9:15 to 9:45 AM Join us for either ... or preferably both! Learn more about us and coming events at www.cslmetro.org

“Compassion Begins At Home” with Rev Trish Hall at CSL Metro

Stating that “compassion begins at home” sounds like we should express compassion at home before showing compassion to others. The response to this is “yes, and …” Being compassionate with oneself and family is always a good practice and the actual learning to be compassionate starts at home in our infancy. Children model the behaviors that are exhibited around them. They learn compassion, kindness and respect by observation and personal experience. What are your earliest memories of the people in your life being kind and respectful? When did you first sense compassion? If you don’t recall such experiences, remember, it’s never to late to create new memories! “What's Causing This?” with Rev Trish Hall at CSL Metro

Arlington Arts Center

Whatever “this” is, thought it causing it. Ernest Holmes taught, “You are either attracting or repelling according to your mental attitudes. You are either identifying yourself with lack or with abundance, with love and friendship or with indifference. You cannot keep from attracting into your experience that which corresponds to the sum total of your states of consciousness.” In a way that’s a rather scary prospect and yet, you have the power to choose how you will be and to change the habits that create what doesn’t serve you. You have heard it often enough: “Change your thinking, change your life!” And it’s true!! “Compassion As Divine Love” with Gail Renwick, RScP at CSL Metro

Believing in the All-encompassing Goodness and Givingness of all life (God), it is relatively easy to remember that “the Universe is for us and not against us…” One may ask the dreaded ‘why’ questions such as; “Why is there so much universal suffering and hardship”? “Why is there pain and hurt”? ‘What about poverty, hunger, pollution, injustice, etc.’? What about personal suffering which may include individual pain, grief and sorrow”? Although there seems to be no reasonable answer to the ‘why’ questions, there is however a deeper level of awareness and quietude expressed as the gift of Compassion. Compassion pulls on our heartstrings – the same way Love does. “Love overcomes everything and neutralizes all that is unlike itself. Love is God.” Gail will take you to new depths of understanding that Compassion is Love in action.
