Thrift Shop @ St Marks

I have started a Thrift Store in Saint Marks church (https://www.facebook.com/SaintMarksKeansburg/) (two upstairs rooms) to help raise money to buy food for the soup kitchen they run. Their funding has been cut greatly but the needy continue to come. They serve breakfast and lunch every day and they also supply pantry food for the food insecure. We also give out coats in the winter, turkeys for the holidays, hygiene kits, blankets and collect toys for Christmas for the kids.

So in an effort to help support this ministry we are taking donations of gently used clothing and household items, electronics, toys, books and movies, really anything that you don't want or need anymore. If someone comes in who is in need we let them "shop" in the store for free. What is not directly needed we decided to try and sell to purchase the things we need. You can rest assured that %100 of your donation will go directly to those in need. There are no hefty CEO salaries to pay or administrative costs, the place is run entirely by the church and its volunteers.

So here is the plan: I am making a commitment to have the store open the second Saturday of every month. I am in need of people to come help me run the store, wait on customers, sort and price items, etc. I will be there from 9am to 2pm. If you can come help me out for any length of time I would very much appreciate it. The soup kitchen will be open during this time also and volunteers are welcome to share a meal there. And don't forget to come and shop too!
