We will start the day with HTML5Test's very own Niels Leenheer, who will be talking about weird browsers. Then, Arjan Eising will give a presentation, topic will be announced later. At the end of the day, you get a chance to showcase your device.
Weird Browsers - Niels Leenheer
Now that everybody builds responsive sites and mobile has become the new normal, are there still any weird browsers left? The latest generation of Smart TV's run on the same operating systems as our mobile devices. How weird can these browsers be? Perhaps Smart TV's aren't as smart as we all would like to think. But there are more weird browsers. How do game console handle your websites and are e-readers really capable of browsing the web? Niels will try to give an overview of all the problems you are going to face when you want to make your site work on these weird browsers.

Niels is a developer working on web applications for Salonhub (https://salonhub.nl/) and is a self-professed browser geek. He is the creator of HTML5test.com (http://html5test.com/), which is used more than a million times yearly to test how well browsers support web standards, and he runs the one of the largest Open Device Labs (http://opendevicelab.com/#!odl=1138) in Europe with almost 200 different and sometimes weird devices.
The Progressive Enhancement Job - Arjan Eising
HTML… when CSS and/or JavaScript fail. Progressive Enhancement is an elegant way to ensure anyone visiting your web site or using your web app a way to use the bare essantial purpose of the document. How to build from there up, keening your eye on potential failure and provide a nice way out… it's covered in this talk.
This is the self-preservation society of front-end developers.

Applying rubber to asphalt with a road bike, watching –a little less active– a good film… both just diversions to think about complex JavaScript problems. Front-end nerd for quite a while already. Is co-organising nice things for Dutch front-end developers at Fronteers.
Device Show & Tell
Do you own a Nokia N9000 Communicator? Do you use a Jolla phone? Or maybe you somehow own the Samsung Galaxy S7?
Bring it to the meetup, and maybe even share something about it on stage!
