## Lian Li — Machine Learning in the browser
Even if you've never done anything with machine learning, you have probably already heard that it's very powerful, adaptive and will change our way of thinking about computing forever. But how can you, a web developer, who's never been interested much in statistics benefit from the ML hype? In this talk, I want to give you the tools to build a small self-learning application that runs completely in the browser.

### About Lian
Lian always wanted to save the world. After a failed attempt at becoming a lawyer, she decided to do something with computers instead. Currently, Lian works as Software Engineer at Container Solutions, a consultancy focused on cloud-native infrastructure based in Amsterdam.

In her free time, she enjoys working on dev related projects from machine learning to hardware hacking.

## Damien Senger — Reading & learning disabilities: Let's build a great and inclusive digital experience together
Autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, … There is an incredible number of different realities behind the reading and learning disabilities. When reading is a challenge, browsing a text-based medium like the Web can be painful and tiring.

Luckily for our users, there is a lot of small improvements and tips every designer, content-writer and developer can do in a project to improve the life all our users.
So let’s take some time to build together a rich web experience, fully accessible to people with reading and learning impairments.

### About Damien
Damien is a queer designer working for Fairphone and fighting for a more inclusive web. Oh, they love public speaking & their inner self is a wild raccoon."

## Christian “Schepp” Schaefer — The Breakthrough of Native Browser APIs
In this talk, Christian will give you an overview on how far native browser APIs have matured, thus freeing our sites from the grip of jQuery, lodash and other helper libraries. We will look at modern DOM traversal and manipulation possibilities, at event delegation, at native smooth scrolling, at image and font lazy loading, and also at working more elegantly with arrays and objects in JavaScript.

### About Christian
Christian “Schepp” Schaefer lives in Düsseldorf and works as a freelance frontend developer with focus on performance. He also co-founded a German weekly podcast on web development named Working Draft and runs a local meetup group.

## Notes:

• We are working to improve the diversity at our meetups. One way we do this is by saving spots for people in underrepresented groups. If you are on the waitlist and believe you are part of an underrepresented group, let one of our organisers know and you will either change your waitlist status (to 'Yes') or bump you up to the top of the waitlist.

• Smile! We are photographing this event. Let us know if you do not wish to have your pictures posted on this site or on social media.

• Note that by attending any of our events, you are agreeing to our code of conduct (https://www.meetup.com/NLHTML5/pages/24032967/Code_of_Conduct/).
