Phil Alexander of the Otsego County Historical Society will lead us on a walking tour of Gaylord (~16 blocks), focusing on Claude Shannon's life. Shannon was a mathematician and engineer who is known as the "father of information theory." His research laid the foundation for modern electronic communications, making today's internet-connected world possible. And he grew up in Gaylord!
Schedule
- 5pm: Meet at the Otsego County Historical Museum (320 W. Main St)
- 5:30pm: Tour Starts
- 6:30pm(ish): Snowbelt Brewery (132 W Main St) for food/drinks
If you can't make the tour, find us at Snowbelt after! (Everyone will cover their own food/beverage bill.)
