Not a question, but a requirement: For membership in our group, you need to have a Meetup Profile Photo of YOU (not the cat, favorite shoes or Eiffel Tower.) Please be sure there is a photo we can see here. Thanks.

Please tell us your favorite genre, author, beverage or tell us all three.

I like all genres for the most part. I've gotten into some great non-fiction lately, but like fiction as well. My favorite book that I read last year was The Submission. Fantastic & really thought-provoking. As far as beverages go, I have very simple tastes...Miller Lite kind of girl.

In your opinion, what does a book group discussion add to your enjoyment of the reading experience?

I enjoy hearing different perspectives on what I've read. It usually helps me to focus more when I'm reading to really think about the book more. And lots of times, someone will point something out I'm completely surprised by. I love that!

If your Meetup "location" is NOT in the New Orleans area, please explain why you want to join our group. Thanks.

Hi! I've just moved back to New Orleans after WAY too long in DC. I miss my book club there & looking forward to meeting some folks to like to read & like to have some fun too! Reading & drinking...two of my favorite pasttimes!

What Francie is saying about this Meetup Group

Fantastic group! The discussion was intelligent and fun and all the attendees were really warm and welcoming! Lorraine, the facilitator, is excellent! She kept everyone on point and really thoroughly brought out discussion on every aspect of the book. May be the best book discussion I've attended since college Lit. I was just sorry I hadn't finished the book at the time. Prompted by the great discussion I went back and finished it and really ended up liking it. Looking forward to next month!
