Setting up your Remote Studio with Mike “Muddy” Schlegel
Details
Did you ever listen to that radio show Car Talk, where people dialed in to get help with their car problems? This is like that. Only it's Muddy and he's going to be answer questions about remote scribing and online facilitation.
Muddy was doing the virtual thing way before it was cool. Since visual practitioners have had to pivot and adjust to remote work, Mike "Muddy" Schlegel has been the professionals' on-call ace-in-the-hole to help them set up their studios for scribing and facilitating online.

Muddy’s Tips for How Best to Prepare for the Session:
*Find a space to spread out, preferably a table or desk. It’s tough to be relaxed if you’re feeling cramped. So clear yourself a little space where you have some elbow room to take notes and sketch out some ideas.
*Gather what you’ll need. During the session, you’ll want something to write with and something to write on.
*Test your system ahead of time. We’ll be using Zoom Online Meetings, something tells me we’re probably all pretty familiar with Zoom at this point.
*Optimize your setup. Close other applications and try to limit competing internet usage like streaming.
*Headphones can be useful, not only to you hear all the good nuggets, but also to help you feel more immersed and engaged because they block out the ambient noises.
*Connect to the meeting early to test your tech and get set up. And the whole point of connecting to the meeting early is so you can then take a deep breath and relax.
*Finally, trust that everything is going to be alright. Don’t get me wrong, something will probably break at some point during the meeting. But, that’s okay. It comes with the territory. We’ll do the best with what we got in the time we have. And it’ll be awesome!

The session will be recorded, so you’ll be able to review it again after the meeting.
