What we’re about
NOVA Scribes is a free and open forum for visual practitioners to share their knowledge.
We are anyone who uses visuals to move others: consultants and facilitators who use visuals, graphic recorders, scribes, sketchnoters, and others!
We're all volunteers! Anyone who wants to can be an organizer or presenter.
The proceeds from the events go to:
• the presenters,
• charities that support the arts as a means of bridging people and communities such as the Whitethorne Foundation, which brings arts education to indigenous communities,
• honorariums for new graphic recorders to practice scribing our events, and
• scholarships to bring new attendees to events like the IFVP conference.
We have organized classes, graphic jams, open spaces, and webinars to share skills and learn from each other. We record our webinars for anyone to watch later, and if you're interested in presenting a topic, please let us know! We organize our events using the Meetup app. You can find us at www.meetup.com/NOVA-Scribes
It's free to be a NOVA Scribes Member; please join us!

See all- RESCHEDULED: Drop in Visual Coaching with Christina MerkleyLink visible for attendees$10.00
NOVA Scribes is very happy to host Christina Merkley as she offers YOU drop-in visual coaching. Christina is a helped define the field of visual coaching in the 1990s with her work with David Sibbet and The Grove Consultants International. Bring any issues you're facing (and don't mind sharing with the other participants), and allow Christina to help guide you through her emergent and highly visual style of coaching. Anyone can bring anything! Issues can be internal (within yourself) or external (dealing with others.) Together, we'll meet what is, co-create our process and approach, and explore how visuals can move humans through self-work. Bring your inner and outer concerns, problems, and celebrations to share.

Join us this July at Montclair State University to learn, collaborate, and network with top leaders in the Visual Practice Industry.
The International Forum of Visual Practitioners is the biennial (that means once every two years) conference for graphic recorders, visual facilitators, sketchnoters, visual consultants, UX designers, visual coaches, or anyone else who sits at the intersection of visuals and group processes. Over a hundred visual practitioners come together from all over the world to learn from each other, make connections, and enjoy each other’s talents and company. New books, tools, methods, card decks, and resources will be demonstrated and available for purchase. Guido Neuland will be selling his latest markers and graphic walls, so bring your credit card. Expect workshops, panel discussions, keynotes, and enough paper on the walls to go to the moon and back. Rub elbows with the superstars of our field. This is it, folks: it’s the world’s fair of the visual practice.
This year, the IFVP will be held in Montclair, New Jersey, July 30 - Aug 2.
