2018 NVC FUNfest: Living From the Heart Retreat
Time to make your summer retreat plans and join us for six glorious days of mindful living from the heart – a celebration of compassionate communication! (weekend commuter options available too) Join us to relax, rejuvenate, and refill your empathy cup! What do you want for your summer learning, fun, and community connection? Are you ready to treat yourself to six days of reconnecting with your joy with all your heart and authenticity?! Leave behind daily demands and immerse yourself in the flow of empathy and honesty. Grow skills and glean insights from working with our awesome team of NVC trainers. Awaken each day to what’s alive – engaging your mind, heart, body and spirit in harvesting the wisdom of your own feelings and needs. We’ll have multiple offerings of topics and trainers for each morning and afternoon sessions; whole group gatherings in the morning and late afternoon; and evening options of fun and related topics as well as whatever emerges from the group input. We welcome new participants as well as those returning for this Santa Cruz tradition. Our three seasoned trainers (with over fifty years of combined NVC experience) will facilitate your learning and co-create with you a rich and connecting experience. Participate in large and small group learning experiences, personal and private sessions, empathy groups, games, journaling, art, and a final evening “Expression Session”. There will be time dedicated for art, music, hiking, walking the labyrinth, naps, meditation, and journaling. So many ways to connect deeply with yourself and others, enveloped in the beauty of the natural surroundings. When you register, you can choose to stay in a cabin/room, camp in your tent, stay in your small RV on site, or commute during the day and evening to the retreat center. Check out the Quaker Center on line, to see photos of the venue. CNVC Certified Trainers Jean Morrison and Kristin Masters with NVC Santa Cruz will be back this year and we are delighted to welcome Roxy Manning guest trainer this summer. Roxy teaches through BayNVC. Meals are guaranteed to be healthy, organic (whenever possible), and wholesome. Our cook will have vegetarian and vegan options and will be advised of any food allergies.
