Presentation for October 2022

Online Zoom Presentation from 6:00 - 7:30 PM

Hosted by New Vibe Training

How to understand and identify trauma for client referrals to mental health services. Today's world is filled with many challenges, and trauma is more common among individuals than ever. Those working in the people business must learn how to identify, understand, and refer to specialized professionals in working with trauma.

The objectives for this presentation are:

  • Understanding trauma and its impact on the brain
  • Identifying the symptoms of trauma
  • Knowing when to make referrals

Dr. Dana Girard is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in California and a graduate of the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA, where she studied western psychology and eastern philosophy. Dr. Girard's most notable achievements are her developmental and managerial experiences as a clinical director for Bay Area non-profits, whose focuses have included diversity and inclusion education, substance rehabilitation programs, wellness center development, intern supervision management, and community mental health. Dr. Girard is now in private practice, where her therapeutic services include treating trauma. While working with trauma, Dr. Girard discovered that traumatic experiences provided opportunities to awaken dormant character strengths that support resiliency. Subsequently, her approach to working through traumatic experiences is one of post-traumatic growth, often supporting the creation of self-defined success stories.

Dr. Dana Girard will present an impactful 40-minute presentation on trauma and the brain and the importance of making referrals to a mental health professional. This presentation is highly beneficial to the coaching community as an opportunity to recognize trauma and offer support to clients through referrals. This is a must-attend presentation if you are a coach, counselor, or any type of practitioner working with people.

Don't miss this enlightening presentation, and invite a friend.
