What we're about

For all you small dog owners who live in NW Calgary, here is a wonderful, convenient, location for you to come regularly and watch your little fur babies frolic and play with other little fur babies. This meetup group is for owners who have dogs under 20 pounds who get along very well with other dogs and all humans. We meet on scheduled Saturdays at 10 - 11 am at Raising Canine Dog Daycare located at #520, 20 Crowfoot Crescent NW. There is both an inside and fenced outside play area for your small pooches to run around with ease and delight. Cant wait to meet you and your little fur baby.

COVID 19: Number of registered dogs is limited to allow people to be 6’ apart from each other. Hand soap and water, as well as hand sanitizer is available for people at all times. You are also welcome to wear mask and gloves if you so choose to. ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS: This group is NOT for small dogs or puppies that have reactivity, aggression, anxiety, stress, fear, over-excitability, unmanageable high energy, chronic barking and whining. It is ONLY for small dogs that ALREADY have calm, manageable, appropriate canine play behaviour. For new members, our group was started to provide a safe environment where little dogs and little puppies UNDER 20 pounds and UNDER 13” (who live with their humans in NW Calgary) can come and not worry about big dogs stepping on them, playing too hard with them, and accidentally hurting and/or injuring them. We have been running the group for many, many years now and our members keep growing. The dogs and puppies develop strong lasting friendships with each other, as do their humans. In order to keep our group safe and comfortable, and as mentioned above, this group is NOT for small dogs that are extremely fearful, anxious, nervous, stressed, overwhelmed, reactive, aggressive, over-excitable, hyper-energized, chronically barking and whining and does not have appropriate canine play behavior. This indicates your dog is too uncomfortable and stressed being in the group, and it also upsets the stable energy and behaviour of the other dogs, including the comfort and enjoyment of their owners. However, if you require assistance with your dog’s socialization issues, please contact Velvetanne, Raising Canine’s owner and dog trainer @[masked] for private training sessions right in the comfort of your own home, or to inquire about our Reactive Dog Recovery Program. You can also learn more about the program and private sessions at Raising Canine’s website at raisingcanine.ca. NEUTERED AND SPAYED: All dogs attended by our group MUST be neutered or spayed by 6 months of age, again for the safety and comfort of the other dogs. SICK/INJURED DOGS: As well, if your fur baby is physically sick or injured, please hold off attending until she/he is healthy again. COST: Cost per family (Exact cash please as I don’t always have change): *One dog - $10 *Two dogs - $15 *Three dogs or more - $20 *Attending both time slots-$15/Dog (Prices include gst) REGISTRATION AMD ATTENDANCE CONFIRMATION: If your dog(s) is/are a good fit for our group, and you and your entire family would like to come, please register first and reply ‘yes’ for the playtimes you would like to attend. We cap off the number of dogs attending, so each time you receive an email announcement with the next playtime, you’ll need to reply “yes” to attend. If you do reply “yes”, but can’t come, please always reply again with “no” so another dog can have the spot. VACCINATIONS: Once you've registered, and before you bring your dog into Raising Canine, please take a photo of your dog's updated vaccination records with your cell phone, and email to [masked]. WAIVER FORM: You’ll then receive a reply email with an attached PDF Waiver form for you to “Fill & Sign”, then email back to [masked]. Cheers, Velvetanne :)
