2018 Tualatin Valley Chapter Fall Fish Along
Join the Tualatin Valley Chapter in Tillamook for two days of fishing, learning and building relationships with fellow anglers. Follow this link for full details and to pay your registration fee: This is a great opportunity for experienced anglers, less experienced folks and people new to the area to hook up with some of the best anglers in the Northwest. Evening around camp, you will have a chance to check out lots of gear, ask questions, learn and help others. During the day you may be fishing with a seasoned Tillamook Basin boat Captain, or walk the banks with someone who knows all the “secret” spots. We will have information available and offer tips to help you with your adventure. This is not a “guided” event. All the folks who attend are regular anglers and not professional guides. Some angling experience and equipment is necessary. Come to our next Chapter meeting to get some tips and have your questions answered. Check our Facebook page for chapter meeting details and other events. Registration You MUST register and pay your fees at the following link: Registration includes: Lodging Friday and Saturday nights in a dormitory environment. 5 meals Chance to fish from a boat with an experienced captain. Opportunity to fish with experienced bank anglers. Registration opens: All Tickets are on sale now! Registration Close HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO Friday, October 19 at 12:01am, or until all the slots are filled up. We still need boat captains, please contact us if you can help. Angler registration, NW Steelheader members: $75 (Current members of NW Steelheaders). Angler registration, non-member: $105/person. Includes a complimentary annual membership and Northwest Steelheaders' hat. Boat Captains: $50/person. For Boat Captains willing to offer Open Seats to participants. Full payment and online registration for the Fish-Along MUST be received prior to the event to reserve your spot. Refunds only if requested more than 7 days prior to event start date. Boat Rides Attendees will be fishing from boats and/or from the bank. Boats are provided by Chapter Member volunteers who have received formal safety training, drift boat captain training, and have current USCG Safety Certification on their boast. The more boats we get, the more people can ride down the river. If you are lucky enough to ride in a boat (most people do at least one day), common etiquette dictates that you kick in a few bucks to the captain of your boat to help with expenses (fuel, bait, maintenance, repairs, etc.). Suggested contribution is $20 per seat, but consider how much gas is burned, cost of bait and fishing gear used, etc. Our volunteers are not guides, this is not a required fee, just common angler courtesy. Bank Fishing If you don't get a chance to fish on a boat, or you just want to build your bank fishing skills, our experienced bank anglers are willing to help. We will have maps available of "secret" fishing holes, and our Chapter "Bankies" will be willing to take you out and help you or provide helpful advice and suggestions. Overnight Accommodations We will stay in the 4-H Dormitory at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds. Accommodations are clean and rustic. Sleeping is in bunk rooms divided by gender. Communal bathrooms separated by gender. Bring all your personal necessities: sleeping bag, pillow, towels, and most importantly...ear plugs! What to Bring Current Oregon Angling license with Salmon/Steelhead tag. Bring your rain gear, boots, waders if you have them. If you have fishing gear for Fall Chinook, bring it. Some boat captains provide gear and tackle for their guests, but bring it if ya got it. Sleeping bag, pillow, towel, toiletries, personal items, camera. Did I mention ear plugs? This event is "rain or shine"! Watch weather forecasts and be prepared!! Find us on Facebook at:

What we're about

Welcome to the NW Steelhead & Salmon Fishing Group.

We are a group of anglers with a passion for sport fishing as well as conservation to ensure we have the best fishing available.

The purpose of our group is to connect people in the Portland and surrounding areas in numerous types of fishing and related activities.

Our meetups will include fishing trips, training seminars, volunteer activities, meetings of the NW steelheader association, and any other type of fishing activity you would like.

Many of our members belong to the Association of NW Steelheaders so you will see a lot of announents for their meetings. Weather you’re a new fisherman or old, we welcome you. We hope to share the knowledge we have and learn from others who have fished the local waters for many years.

(We have a no tolerance policy for breaking the law, using inappropriate language, being rude or degrading to others, and/or using this site for any reason that does not support the purpose above. Any violators will be automatically kicked).

As a side note we encourage you to either show up to events you RSVP for or cancel your RSVP. If there is a paid event and you don't show up you will be charged if not cancelled by the deadline. Non payment will result in a kick from our group.

Happy Fishing.
