What we're about
We are a group of friendly people doing weekly 10k (6.2 mile) walks all around the Pacific Northwest. All walks are American Volkssport Association (AVA) sanctioned. Everyone is welcome to join us. (donations appreciated) or you can choose to pay for AVA credit stamps. IVV Credit walkers $3.00.
If you prefer to walk on your own, we have all of our walks on the AVA site with maps and directions.
If you have elected to take a group walk, you must sign the waiver form at each walk. Please take a map and directions. if you find yourself separated from others during a group walk, you will be able to continue the walk based on the map and directions (we have also included the phone number of the host on directions in the case you get separated from others.
Find out more about the Washington State Association at www.esva.online or the AVA at www.ava.org.
We will leave at 10 am, please arrive early. Sign in is at 9:30 am.
At every walk, upon arriving at the start point, you will be required to register. You will be signing a liability waiver (a disclaimer), as our club cannot accept responsibility for any injuries or other harms you might incur during the walk.
Show up and be ready to walk at the posted time. We need to register to each walk at the start location, so allow for that. It's important to join the group. This gives you reminders, changes and cancellations.
*** Join us - RAIN OR SHINE - for "Fun, Fitness, and Friendship". *** The NW Tulip Trekkers is an outdoor walking club. We welcome newcomers. Come walk the NW corner of Washington with us. We have walks in Anacortes, Bellingham, Birch Bay, Blaine, Burlington, Coupeville, Deception Pass, Ferndale, La Conner, Oak Harbor, and Mount Vernon. Walking at a moderate pace without interruption, most people can expect to complete a 10 km walk in about 2 and a half hours and a 5 km walk in approximately 1- and one-half hours or you can take as long as you want. The whole walking group stops and waits at every rest room for all walkers to catch up and we stop and wait for everybody before continuing on the walk. Anyone is welcome to join our walks and hopefully become interested in participating in our club.
Membership is only $5.00 per year.
We have new walker packets for $10.00 if you would like to start stamping a distance and event book. It has 3 free walk coupons saving you $9.00.
The Trekkers Club is designed for AVA-member walkers, and for individuals and families who just want to walk for fun and fitness. Club website: http://www.nwtrekkers.org. AVA website: www.ava.org.
Most walks are dog friendly (with leash and cleanup, of course).
If you love to walk, you'll love to walk with us.
