What we're about

Become an NWACycling Assistant Organizer! Organize your own rides! It's easy!
--

This is is a place for people who like to ride medium distances (25-50 miles) but who aren't racers (although individual racers are certainly welcome). It's primarily fitness/social oriented (i.e., "no drop," within reason). Shorter, beginner rides and recreational mountain bike rides are being added, too!

Do you lead organized, regularly scheduled rides in northwest Arkansas? I paid the fee to get this page running, so, please, take advantage of the super-easy meetup tools. Ping me and I will be glad to make you an assistant organizer. Consider this your one-stop shop for all the recreational rides in the area.

I have no interest in collecting dues or starting my own club.

Thursday Night Jaunt

Needs a location

NOTE: START TIME HAS BEEN MOVED TO 6:00 P.M. SUNSET IS LATE ENOUGH>>>>>>

Hawg Wash has painted over all their signs so look for the gas station.. we usually meet behind the building.. This ride leaves Hawg Wash promptly at 6:00 pm. Might be a good idea to show up a few minutes early. We meet at Hawg Wash, at North Ave and the trail, at 6:00 pm, head north on Scull Creek Trail through the US Biz 71 tunnel, then east onto Mud Creek Trail to the end at Old Missouri Rd. We usually stop here for a few minutes, at the midway point (white dot in red emblem on map), and then return. * After the ride, join us if you wish at the Fossil Cove Brewery (about 1 mile northeast of Hawg Wash) for beer and pizza from the food truck. * If you wish, you can park before the ride at Fossil Cove and bike south to meet us at the starting point at Hawg Wash. * This ride will be casual and easy at a leisurely pace of about 10-12 mph. Overall the ride is about 11 miles.

Ragbrai 2022

Needs a location

I'm planning on trying to hitch on with a charter and do Ragbrai 2022. Putting it here to spread the word about the event as well as to see if anyone else is also interested in riding it. It's a multi-day ride across Iowa and has a storied history. If I see some interest on this we can figure out more about if ya'll want to try to do a group ride, all go with the same charter, or whatever.

This is the charter that I'm likely to sign up with.

Here is a video someone else made that kinda captures what the ride is like.
