How can we implement IoT solutions to make New York a smarter city. The prospects of IoT are great but we still have challenges with implementation and moving from the idea stage to workable solutions. The purpose of this event is to focus on ways we can implement IoT and leverage IoT solutions to improve lives for residents in the city

Carmera will talk about how they use computervision in cars to create highly detailed maps and are able to extract other interesting data from their images

Mark Dilsizian, founder of Exteros (exteros.com), will talk about measuring human activity and interaction using computer vision, and about overcoming obstacles to IOT sensor deployment with portable, wireless sensors. Exteros has deployed wireless cameras at Brookfield Place, the Oculus (Westfield World Trade Center), and has upcoming projects with NYC parks, museums, and city development projects.

Ali Khaloo will give a presentation on how computer vision and machine learning can improve the quality of our infrastructure systems.
Dr. Khaloo is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Cornell University's elite Runway program at the Cornell Tech campus in New York City. Ali has close to 10 years of experience in autonomous sensing, data interpretation and intelligent condition assessment of structures. He has been working in the field of computer vision and machine learning to develop robust systems for quantitative health monitoring of civil infrastructures.

Alex Bell will talk about an open source project called alvelor (https://alvelor.com/) that started as a collaboration between New York City and residents to use artificial intelligence to count vehicles using public traffic camera feeds.
