49th Hardware Meetup (redux)
Hello! It's nearly June and time for another Hardware Meetup. Apparently we miscounted the number, so we're doing #49 again. Guess we'll have to do something special for #50 in July! In the meantime, we have a great lineup of speakers planned for June. Agenda: 6:15 - 6:30pm: Arrival, pizza and beer. 6:30 - 6:40pm: Welcome and notes. 6:40 - 7:05pm: Brian Wilson, Founder and CEO, Duro UAS (https://durouas.com/). Bronx-based Duro makes submersible drones for gathering marine data. Its affiliate, Duro Workforce, offers technical training for hardware professionals. 7:05 - 7:25pm: Carolyn, Topp, Director of New Business & Product Development, Uncommon Goods (https://www.uncommongoods.com). Uncommon Goods is an online market place of original and unusual goods. Their in-house Product Development team develops new designs in partnerships with their community of independent makers. 7:25 - 7:45pm: Justin Seidenfeld, Doris Dev (https://www.dorisdev.com/services/). Doris Dev is a product development agency based in NYC with a dedicated engineering and manufacturing team in Hong Kong. The team previously worked on design, development, and manufacturing at Quirky, smart luggage startup Raden, and smart toothbrush maker Goby. 7:45pm+: networking and community announcements. See you all there! Nate

    What we're about

NYC has countless tech meet-ups and events, but where's all the hardware love? We want to bring together a strong community of folks eager to build businesses with physical products, be it a cold fusion engine or a bionic fork. Whether you're an engineer, designer, CEO, investor, or anyone interested in being a part of the hardware start-up eco-system, come join us and let's create an amazing addition to the tech scene in the Big Apple.
