19th Hardware Meetup

Details
Hey hardwarians,
Time for another meetup, and we've got a great treat for you! Crowdfunding has become a great way to not only gain your first set of funds, but also to test customer demand and get a ton of useful feedback and beta users on your product. We have the fine folks at Indiegogo (http://www.indiegogo.com) sponsoring this session, and we'll have a series of startups who have either raised money or are in the process of raising money on Indiegogo talk about their experience.
5:45 - 6:00pm: arrival, pizza and hob-nobbing
6:00 - 6:10pm: Welcome and sponsors say hi
6:10 - 6:30pm: Jerry Needel, the Head of Growth at Indiegogo will be talking about everything else you gain when you crowdfund your product other than the cash.
6:30pm - 6:35pm: Matt Sandy from Parashoot (http://www.theparashoot.com/) that raised over $150,000 in pre-orders (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/parashoot-2-1-the-only-customizable-wearable-wireless-micro-hd-camera) for a beautiful designed wearable connected camera that can fit in the palm of your hand.
6:35 - 6:40pm: Qian Qian Tang, ran Kinsa's crowdfunding campaign (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/kinsa-smart-thermometer-know-more-keep-your-family-healthier) to the tune of $50,000 for their connected smart thermometer (https://www.kinsahealth.com/).
6:40 - 6:45pm: Steve Schell CTO of New Matter, has just launched a beautifully designed $250 3D printer on Indiegogo called the MOD-t (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/new-matter-mod-t-a-3d-printer-for-everyone). After their first day they have already reached the $500,000 mark!
6:45 - 7:30pm: Panel discussion with speakers
7:30 - 8:30pm: network
8:30 - onwards: beers at a local watering hole
See you soon!
