Meetup tomorrow, Connected Device Accelerator and Pitch your Prototype Competition

From: Haytham E.

Dear hardwarians,

I hope you're as excited as I am about tomorrow's meetup, where design meets engineering. We will be teaming up with IDSA, an industrial design group that also meets once a month, and I hope it leads to some meaningful collaborations  between designers and engineers. If you've RSVP'd but are not going please un-RSVP so someone on the waiting list can take your place.

Two exciting announcements for this week:

1) R/GA, a New York based design firm and our very own meetup sponsor, announced last week the launch of a connected devices accelerator based here in NY. You can get up to $120k in investment and 3 months of space and mentorship. The first class starts in December with a demo day at SXSW, and applications are due by October. Find out more at

2) You're still on time to pitch your prototype at the Hardware Innovation Workshop, being held in NY for the first time on September 18th. The deadline for applying has been extended to August 31st. 12 lucky finalists will be given a booth to show off their prototypes at the event, and 6 finalists will battle it out on stage to win a $5000 cash prize. Go ahead and show off your wares in front of a great audience. You can apply here

Have a great week and keep building!
