Hey hardwarians,
Hope you're enjoying the weekend and what seems like the evening chills of a Fall season. Lots of stuff going on so on with the show: 1) Last chance to get tickets for the Hardware Innovation Workshop on Wednesday September 18th. Check out the amazing lineup of speakers - I'll be moderating a pretty impressive VC panel during the event. Use discount code HIW50 to get $50 off the ticket price! 2) As you've noticed the next hardware meetup will be on Thursday at eBay, and will be pretty star studded. We have limited seating so please, if you're RSVP's and decide not to go, please un-RSVP to give someone on the waiting list a chance to attend. We have a hard stop for people that can fit in the event space, so we will have to be at the door making sure we don't go over the maximum. 3) We have another NY hardware startup members going on to a crowdfunding campaign. Aditya Bansal, Praveen Elak and Robert Clarke are all on the launch team of Weartrons Run-N-Read, and you can find their campaign page here, which is actually part of a new crowdfunding site developed by Dragon Innovation. They're more than 40% towards their goal, so let's go show them some love and push them towards their target. Whether you're interested in snagging a Run-N-Read for yourself, or maybe can just provide some social media love - I'm sure Aditya, Praveen and Robert would greatly appreciate any and all support that you can provide! 4) Tinkering on a side project or ready to start your next hardware company? FounderDating recently launched FounderDating Hardware in partnership with Tech Shop and PCH International for you to find the right people to start with! Check out FounderDating Hardware! Upcoming Hardware Deadline 9/27/13 5) As many of you know, Makerfaire is happening next weekend, so head out to Queens and check out what people are making. If you've ever thought of starting a Makerspace yourself (and by George does New York need them), there's actually an interesting workshop on how to go about doing that! Check out the details of the workshop! That's all folks - keep building! Haytham |
