Introducing NYAIx - our community partner series! We are have vetted the following meetup groups & will now cross-promote their events here!
[Please note, these events are completely owned & operated by our partners & not directly affiliated with NYAI.]

Basic Python Games will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019

Be sure to RSVP via Eventbrite to get your name on the list for entrance to this event! ==> https://www.eventbrite.com/e/galvanize-nyc-basic-python-games-sharpen-your-python-skills-by-building-simple-console-games-tickets-61173231783

The goals for this event are to use Python to implement simple command-line games and to gain practice using Python to solve problems!

The games for this meetup will be:

1) Grasshopper (a 1D game, to be described later)

2) The classic game of Connect Four (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connect_Four)

The focus will be on Python programming but feel free to bring your own language

Come join us, try to implement one (or both) games by yourself or as part of a team.

Rules for both will be provided around a week before the event!

6:30 pm - Meet and greet
6:45 pm - Intro and Q&A about the game of the night
8:30 pm - Begin wrap-up
8:50 pm - 3 - 5 teams can volunteer to give 5-minute talks about their solution (or proposed solution if not finished)
9:30 pm - Everyone goes home happy!

We welcome people of all Python skill levels. The goal is to learn and to have fun while working on a new problem. We have both an easier game and a more advanced game for you to implement. Bring a friend or two to pair up, or make new friends at the event!
