This is a group for people who want to explore metaphysical issues in Analytical Philosophy. The Analytical tradition is distinguished from Continental Philosophy and Eastern philosophies by its precise approach to language and logic as well as by its clear division into topics such as ontology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of physics, logic, philosophy of mathematics, ethics, epistemology, semantics and more. It began with and has evolved from Logical Positivism (often diverging in widely in conclusions but less so in methods). Notable contributors to the foundation of the Analytic tradition include Descartes, Locke, Bacon, Newton, Russell, Wittgenstein, Frege, Carnap and Quine. Significant contemporary contributors to the field include Peter Van Inwagen, David Chalmers and Ned Markosian.
