Remember, Mythmoot 2013 in Baltimore is coming soon on Dec 14-15 and folks need to plan and reserve rooms. The Hobbit - DoS opens on Dec. 13. 200 attended last year. We see the movie on Sat morning and spend the weekend discussing the films and book. The discussions are led by The Tolkien Professor Corey Olsen. I have reserved a double room at a nearby motel for only $59/night.

Here is the latest info from The Tolkien Prof, Corey Olsen about the Mythmoot, incl a live webcast on Wed Oct 23 at 9:30 PM

Dear Mythmooters,

The leaves are falling, the temperature is dropping, and Hobbit film trailers are being released; the season of Mythmoot approaches! You are getting this email because I had the pleasure of meeting you last year at our first ever Mythmoot, and I wanted to let you know that registration is now open for the encore performance. Some of you have signed up already, but if you haven't yet, you can find the registration link here on our events page: http://www.mythgard.o...

If you have questions about this year's Mythmoot, I'll be happy to answer them at the live Q&A session I'm holding on Wednesday night this week at 9:30. To join me, click here: https://www4.gotomeet.... If you can't make it, you can also reply to this email with your question, and I'll make sure to address it during the session (recordings of the session will be available afterwards on the Events page, linked above).

Thanks, and I hope to see many of you again in Baltimore this December!

Just in case anyone is waiting for any discounts. The organizers are barely covering expenses. The only discount is for those who want to attend just the dinner and movie who are accompanying those who are attending the whole conference. So no group discounts are in the works.

Dennis, Me and Cathy are going for sure by car... anyone else interested? There is train to Baltimore and then rapid transit with a shuttle to the Conf Center.

The Agenda is up as a pdf on the Mythgard website. http://www.mythgard.o...

They are focusing on discussing how Tolkien gets adapted for graphic arts, the films and role playing games. There will be papers read as well as open discussion sessions.

Ted Nasmith, Jeff Murray, and John Di Bartolo (of Middle-earth Network) are the special guests.

Hi Tim,
The +1 registrations (for people accompanying conference-goers, who will not themselves be attending the conference but would like to join us for dinner and the movie) are already heavily discounted, at $75. There is no group rate, unfortunately -- I wish we could do it, but we just can't afford to. The ticket price is designed to cover the costs of the event, which (with my typical eye for the bottom line) it will only barely do, in the best of scenarios. But I look forward to meeting the other NYC area folks!
