Dog Days of Summer - Tubing in the Catskills!!

Since the days of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, the image of floating down a river on a hot summer day has always created a sense of adventure.

Located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains is a five-mile stretch of river that has become one of the most popular tubing courses around, people come from all over to ride the rapids and drift with the current as the Esopus Creek winds through the beautiful mountains and greenery of the Catskills.

If you've never tubed before, head for the Town Tinker Tube Rental headquarters on Bridge St. in Phoenicia, NY.

STANDARD TUBING PACKAGE

The standard package includes a Tube, Life Jacket, and Tube Taxi bus ride for $25

The course is about 2 1/2 miles long and takes about 2 - 2 1/2 hours. The course begins near the Town Tinker headquarters on Bridge St. This course has a variety of exciting rapids, flumes, and calmer stretches made for drifting.Transportation to the entry point is by Town Tinker Tube buses.

WHAT TO BRING:

Bathing suit

Sunscreen (optional: t-shirt for guys and gals if you burn easily)

Old sneakers, Tevas or Chaco sandals or wet shoes for traction in shallow, rocky water

Spare clothes to change into afterwards

AFTERWARDS:

Grab lunch in little downtown Phoenicia; pizza or Mexican, cafe, etc.

Transportation: We will carpool and passengers pick up the tabs on gas/tolls. If we do not have enough drivers we will rent a van and split the cost. Please post if you need a ride or can give a ride. Drivers please post on your RSVP state from where and how many passengers you can take.
