This is the NYC Distributed Energy Resources meetup group. On the first Wednesday of every month we get together at a rotating location for drinks, networking, a member presentation, and discussion. We do our best to keep the group squarely focused on distributed energy resources, as most of our members work in the industry and use the group as a forum for high-value networking and education.
Most months a member or guest will present on something interesting they are working on or thinking about. Click below to access past presentations:

For this month's member presentation, Russell Wilcox will present on community solar in NYC. Community solar often conjures images of ground-mount installations off in a field somewhere, but in the concrete jungle, projects are obviously very different. Russell will guide us through this very unique community solar market, and as always, questions and discussion are encouraged.
Russell is the co-founder and CEO of UrbanDER, a triple-bottom-line business dedicated to accelerating clean distributed energy adoption among NYC building owners by providing zero-risk opt-in options and creatively value-stacking unused spaces. Previously he was an energy and solar engineer with Bright Power and Direct Energy Solar, and has also spent time working on jet engine and nuclear reactor design for Pratt & Whitney and Westinghouse. Russell has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
