This 3-day course will demonstrate the fundamental concepts of machine learning by working on a dataset of moderate size, using open source software tools. The goal of this course is to teach you the theory behind the most common machine learning algorithms by applying them directly on well-defined problems in class.

This course is designed for engineers! If you're an engineer and you want to better understand how to work directly with data scientists, this course is for you. Unlike other courses we've seen, we won't spend a lot of time teaching you how to write code - successful applicants are pre-screened software engineers prior to acceptance.

This course will be part theoretical and part practical. Students are encouraged to bring their own dataset/problem that they are working on for classroom discussion.
