The central thesis of Thinking, Fast and Slow is that We have two fundamentally dissimilar systems in us: a dichotomy between two modes of thought: "System 1" is fast, instinctive and emotional; "System 2" is slower, more deliberative, and more logical. The book describes and documents various consequences of having this “split personality”, and suggests several to dos how how best to use both our systems.
