October Monthly Meetup — A Discussion on the Upcoming Elections
Details
As we gear up for another election cycle, this month's meetup will focus on the key races at various districts. Elections have consequences (mostly) — therefore, we'll discuss the key races in the context of policy ramifications based on the anticipated election outcomes.

• NYC: is your Councilmember or a local official up for reelection? If so, do they deserve to keep their jobs?
• NYS: Cuomo vs. Astorino, as the public eagerly (and deservedly) awaits a televised debate.
• Congressional midterms: will there be a shift in balance of power? Are you keeping an eye on any close races?
Additionally, we'll examine the post-election impacts to the U.S. foreign policy and international relations. Furthermore, we'll examine how foreign policy is weighing into the voters' minds as an election issue.
For this event, we strongly encourage everyone to display their self-proclaimed punditry, the "pollster-wonkery," and the "electile geekitude."
Finally, we'll spend the last 45 minutes of this meetup discussing various foreign affairs matters including the current situation in Hong Kong and the Middle East.
As an added bonus, those who are attending this event will automatically be eligible to attend The Great Net Neutrality Debate (https://www.meetup.com/NYC-Politics/events/208198102/), which begins at 5pm.
