PyTorch Study Group Series [co-hosted with Microsoft]

Details

Learn the fundamentals of deep learning with PyTorch! During this beginner friendly, self-guided learning series you will be introduced to key concepts to building machine learning models in multiple domains including speech, vision, and natural language processing. Join us for one or all four sessions! Each week we will cover one of four modules in a self-guided study session followed by an Ask Me Anything segment with course content creator(s).

Modules include:
Week 1 - Get started with PyTorch: Intro to PyTorch <-- we are here this week!
Week 2 - Get started with PyTorch: Introduction to Computer Vision
Week 3 - Get started with PyTorch: Introduction to Natural Language Processing
Week 4 - Get started with PyTorch: Introduction to Audio Classification

Ask questions and/or provide feedback during Ask Me Anything at the end of each session or in our event Slack channel. Microsoft is excited to share this new technical course with our community before it goes live to the public!

ABOUT

Week 1
Title: Get started with PyTorch: Intro to PyTorch
Description: Most machine learning workflows involve working with data, creating models, optimizing model parameters, and saving the trained models. Week one introduces you to a complete ML workflow implemented in PyTorch. We’ll use the FashionMNIST dataset to train a neural network that predicts if an input image belongs to one of the following classes: T-shirt/top, Trouser, Pullover, Dress, Coat, Sandal, Shirt, Sneaker, Bag, or Ankle boot. Before we jump into building the model you will be guided through a set of core concepts needed to understand the basics of building Machine Learning models. Lastly we will put all the concepts together to build our first computer vision model.
Who: Seth live intro (~10 min) and AMA at end
Date: Wednesday, May 5, 2021
