February NYC Testers meetup: workshop with James Bach

Details

James Bach is giving a workshop for NYC Testers:

Title: Test Oracle Design Challenge

I'm concerned that not enough testers are comfortable talking about or demonstrating the use of sophisticated test oracles. So, this event will be a hands-on workshop on oracle design. The plan is to have an experience designing and using a good oracle for detecting interesting problems in a product, then discuss the various oracle strategies that people used. I will also show what I came up with. Maybe we will find a few bugs, too.

Product: We will be testing a particular feature of Inkscape. If you want to participate, download Inkscape from https://inkscape.org/en/download/ I strongly suggest that you familiarize yourself with Inkscape before the event, but don't worry-- the feature we will be testing is not particularly complex or difficult to learn.

About James:
James Bach is a consulting software tester and author of Lessons Learned in Software Testing, as well as Secrets of a Buccaneer-Scholar. A founder of the Context-Driven Testing movement, he created Rapid Software Testing methodology and teaches it around the world.
