What we’re about
This is a a group for people who live and work In NY and the surrounding area, but who recognize we are in one of the greatest metropolitan areas in the world. It's for people who are creatures of the city, with all its diversity, possibilities, opportunities, and excitement. To be sure, we will make excursions into the city--and that includes Queens and Brooklyn as well as Manhattan...and let's not forget the Bronx and Staten Island as well. However, we will get together here on Long Island too, in the interest of promoting convenience and encouraging inclusion by people whose budgets may not allow them to take trips to the city as frequently as they'd like. The point of this group is as much to allow meeting, forming friendships, and having fellowship with others whose hearts belong in the city, as it is to take trips into the city for all that it offers.

In this crazy Coronavirus world, many of us are feeling isolated and need to socialize. We created Online WORD Game party event to allow you to do just that, in a fun safe environment.HOW IT WORKS
This completely online event will be LIVE and you will be able to see and hear the other participants while playing. In addition you get to meet and interact with other participants.At game time, your host will show you a word search board. Your goal is to come up with as many words as you can within the specified time frame (Typically 90-120 seconds). The person(people) who made the most words, will get a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize at the end of the event. You also can earn raffle tickets for audience participation and finding certain bonus words. We will also play Categories, Rebus and other word games.
(You must be on camera if you want a chance to win prizes. Otherwise you can play for fun if you are off camera, but just cant win any rounds)

How else is it similar/different from Traditional Speed Dating
One on One dates:
We will break participants into pairs of two, just like we do with traditional speed dating. You will get to speak to each dates for a specified amount of time (typically 4-6 minutes). After the specified number of minutes, the guys will rotate to the next date and the process continues.
Just like with traditional speed dating, at the end of the event you will be able to let us know who you were interested in. We will send you both mutual matches (you picked them and they picked you) as well as one way matches (they picked you but you did not pick them).
You are given 20 minutes from the end of the event to let us know who you are interested in and will receive the results the same night (usually within one hour) or the next morning. You will not have to wait 24 hours or more to get your results.

How many potential dates will be there?
The minimum number of potential dates will be 5 and the maximum will be about 15. If for any reason there were less than 5 members of the opposite sex in attendance, you would get credit for a future Virtual event.

I created Online Speed Friending to allow you to do just that, in a fun safe environment.The in person speed friending events are some of our most popular and well attended meetups. Now we have developed a system where you can enjoy this event from the comfort and safety from your own home.
HOW IT WORKS
We will take all of the participants and break them up Virtually into smaller groups of 3-4 people. You will be in a private online room (for 5-10 minutes) with just your small group (you can see and hear others in your group). The host will provide an ice breaker question.
