As you walk the streets of New York city, you get to see some of the most beautiful Beaux Arts buildings. Many of these were created by the architectural firm of McKim Mead & White. An example of one of them is the old Penn Station. We will talk about what it was, what happened to it, what replaced it and what is coming.
This event will take us from Penn Station to 59th Street. It is Manhattan centric. We won't be going to the Bronx Community College in the Bronx (BCC), or to the boat house in Prospect Park Bklyn.
We will talk about the life of each of the partners. The best known one was Stanford White and his tragic ending.
We will visit between 8-10 McKim Mead & White buildings in Manhattan
Part 3 of will be at a future date from Columbus Circle to Columbia University and beyond.
